Privacy Policy

Protecting your personal data is very important to me. I process your data exclusively in accordance with legal regulations (GDPR, TKG 2003). This privacy policy provides information about the key aspects of data processing on this website.

1. Contacting Me

If you contact me via email, the data you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your request and for potential follow-up questions. This data will not be shared without your explicit consent.

To protect email addresses from automated bots, this website uses Cloudflare's Email Address Obfuscation feature.

2. Language Settings (i18n)

To display the website in your preferred language, your language preference (i18n_redirected) is stored in your browser using a cookie. This is used solely for user convenience and is not shared with third parties.

3. Color Scheme Preference

The site remembers your dark/light mode preference using local storage (vueuse-color-scheme). This setting is local to your device and not transmitted to any server.

4. Comments via Giscus

We use Giscus, an open-source, GitHub-based commenting system. In order to comment:

  • You must be logged in to a GitHub account.
  • Giscus will access your GitHub username and avatar via the GitHub API.
  • No additional personal data is collected by this website.

Refer to the Giscus Privacy Policy for more information.

Note: Giscus sets a jwtToken cookie (for GitHub authentication) β€” this is required only when interacting with the comments feature.

5. Web Analytics with Umami

We use a self-hosted and cookieless instance of Umami for privacy-friendly web analytics.

  • No personal data or cookies are stored.
  • IP addresses are anonymized.
  • No data is shared with third parties.
  • Analytics are used solely to improve the performance and usability of the website.

As Umami does not use cookies or fingerprinting, no cookie banner is required under GDPR.

6. Server Log Data

The hosting provider (Oracle Cloud, Frankfurt) automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits. This includes:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing device

This data is stored temporarily for security and troubleshooting purposes and automatically deleted after a defined retention period. It is not merged with other data sources and is not used to identify users personally.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access to your stored data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of your data
  • Restriction of processing
  • Data portability
  • Revocation of consent
  • Objection to specific data processing

If you believe that your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority:
